Online Store for Photographers

As a photographer, you create images that tell stories, evoke emotions, and capture moments. But how can you make these images accessible and easy to purchase without spending endless hours managing orders, handling payments, and organizing logistics? That’s where we step in with our e-commerce solution, designed especially for photographers and artists.

Below, you can see a few examples of our clients’ online stores:

Smooth and Simple Through Collaboration

Together with our long-term partner and invaluable technical support, Kalle Viira Creative Studio, we provide photographers with a ready-made e-commerce solution that removes the technical challenges of selling and gives artists the freedom to focus on what matters most – creating.

In this collaboration model, you handle the photography and marketing, we at Dialab take care of product manufacturing, quality control, and delivery to your customers, and Kalle builds the online store. This way, sales run smoothly without you having to worry about storage, shipping, or the technical side of your store. Future updates such as adding new products or pages can easily be done by you or ordered as additional work.

Why an Online Store is Worth It

Many photographers want to sell prints, but setting up and maintaining an online store can feel complicated. Our goal is to offer a solution that saves both time and effort. Instead of stressing over payment systems or order handling, you can focus on creating content and reaching your audience.

This service is particularly suitable if you want to increase visibility and sales without large initial investments, technical skills, or unnecessary intermediaries. Many of Finland’s most renowned photographers already use Dialab’s e-commerce service – including Konsta Punkka, Kreetta Järvenpää, and Eeva Mäkinen – proving its reliability and effectiveness. With it, you can reach more customers, grow your brand, and above all, keep doing what you love – taking photos.

What’s Needed to Open an Online Store?

Our goal is to make opening and maintaining your store as effortless and cost-effective as possible, while also ensuring that customers can purchase high-quality photo products easily and seamlessly.

There are no extra running costs – you only pay a one-time setup fee, the monthly platform fee, and the payment provider’s (Stripe) commission on completed sales. You don’t need to invest your own money in prints or frames upfront, since you are charged only for the products sold.

You also don’t need extensive IT knowledge to run your store successfully – we’ll guide you step by step. Store maintenance is easy to manage on your own, but you can also purchase additional support from Kalle if needed.

Your online store can either be integrated into your existing website or created as a brand-new site. Stores are usually built on the Squarespace platform, but we can also work with other platforms if preferred.

Making the Store Your Own

We provide support for sales and marketing where possible. Our package includes partly digitally generated product images/mockups for promotional use. However, we recommend ordering a few prints or framed artworks and photographing them yourself – this helps showcase your work in a natural environment and ensures the images match your brand style.

For sales promotion, we offer an exceptional 30% discount on prints and frames ordered for your own marketing purposes.

Especially for first-timers, we recommend ordering test prints of all images you plan to sell in your store. Test prints (about 13 × 18 cm) cost €20 in total, including postage, regardless of whether you order 6 or 20. With these, you can ensure the colors and quality look exactly as you intended.

Many of our store owners also use hand-signed certificate cards, which include details such as title, date, material, and edition number. These are shipped with every order to your customer. If you’d like, you can also order a batch for yourself: 100 cards (10 × 15 cm) for €59 + VAT 25.5%.

Steps Towards Your Own Store – What Next?

  2. Decide which features, design, and look you’d like for your own store.

  3. Contact us and Kalle.

    • Together we’ll select your products and help with pricing.

    • Kalle will give you detailed instructions for the next steps.

  4. Choose your first six images for sale.

  5. Prepare image files (approx. 2000px wide), write selling titles and descriptions/stories, and set your prices.

  6. Provide additional content for the store, such as a bio, background images, and texts about your work.

  7. Send everything to Kalle and agree on details (images, prices, shipping, product descriptions, mockups, etc.).

  8. You’ll then receive a demo store for testing.

  9. After adjustments, finalize and publish!

  10. Set up Stripe for payments, link the store to your domain, and you’re ready to go.

From there, you’ll get product mockups, and your store link will generate attractive previews across channels – making marketing easy.

Orders come directly to us, we produce and ship the products to customers, and you’ll receive your payments via Stripe within three days. At the end of each month, we invoice you for the products sold.
