Products and materials

Silisec® is a process used for face mounting photographs on acrylic glass. Because the print is ”glued” to the acrylic glass, the result is a completely flat mount of the image.

A lightweight alternative to aluminum, Dibond® is perfect for archival framing and large print mounting.
When weight is an issue because of framing or transportation 2mm Dibond® is a great choice.

As a printing material we use Acid free Daquerre canvas 400 gsm, poly-cotton, bright white.
Daguerre Canvas offers a fine structure, which is particularly good for fine art photo printing.

The images are printed directly onto the surface of the aluminium without white ink.
The ink covers the dark areas of the board but leaves the aluminum surface visible at the light end.

LAMINATING

Laminate is a protective film that is applied to your print, helping to minimise damage to your print from scratching, UV rays and fingerprints.

Lamination preserves the colors of your print and makes it possible to wipe out fingerprints and splashes. That’s why it can be a good choice for posters, navigational charts, touring exhibitions, public places and kid’s rooms.

Laminating prints used to be standard in a gallery exhibition, allowing the print to be carefully cleaned with a damp, lint free cloth. This however has changed in the last couple of years, with galleries and artists realising there are both pros and cons to having your print sealed. We offer different kind of laminates, but don't necessarily recommend them.

Our laminate choices are matt, matt-satin (semi-matt), glossy, highgloss, floorlaminate, antigraffitilaminate and glitter (available on summer 2020).

MOUNTING

Mounting means glueing an image to a board using ph-neutral film or silicone.

A great picture deserves to be prominently displayed.
Mounting, framing and laminating are the tools you need to make your best photos shine.
The best mounting choice for each photo depends of the printing material, how it is printed, and the desired display options.

Archival mounting is a process for photographs mounted on to material that will not degrade over time and in which the print will not suffer degradation due to the mounting process.
We use a ph-neutral adhesive mount film, making it compatible with sensitive FineArt papers. Materials such as FOREX and HDF contain acids and by-products that will break down over time. Dibond, aluminium and Silisec® are fully archival.

ALUMINIUM HANGING RAILS (sub frame)

Hanging rails are for hanging Aluminium, Dibond and Silisec® mounts.
The sub frame is an aluminium profile attached onto the reverse side of the mounted material.
A sub frame will give the impression of your artwork floating loose from the wall.
Available thickness 9mm, 15mm or 20mm.

You can also order J-shape counter parts for the wall.
